Apr, 16th, 2025 Partial Capture management update
We’re pleased to inform you that we have improved KOMOJU’s management of partial captures.
As of April 16, 2025, the partial captures are no longer displayed as “full capture + partial refund”, but as a single “partial capture” entry instead.
This update is intended to make reporting and reconciliation easier. You can see this change reflected in the admin dashboard, reports, and the latest version of the API.
Please note that this update is being rolled out gradually. Depending on the account, it may take several days before the change is fully applied.
What’s New?
1) Payments Details
On the payments details page, partially captured payments will be clearly labeled as partially captured, as opposed to being labeled as partially refunded.
The payment details table has been revamped to clearly show both the authorized amount and the captured amount, using new rows labeled “Total Authorized Amount” and “Confirmed Amount”.

2) Payments Report
A new column “Confirmed Amount” will be added. The existing “Amount” column will continue to display the authorized amount, while the new column will show the partial captured amount. Additionally, the “Amount refunded cents” field — which was used to represent partial captures as refunds — will no longer be used for the partial captures.

3) Settlement Report
Partial captures were displayed as two separate records: one for the authorized amount capture and another for the partial refund. Now they will be consolidated into a single record, showing only the captured amount.

4) API
For merchants integrating directly with the KOMOJU API, the current API version (v2024-07-15) remains operational and unchanged. Partial captures continue to be represented by a full capture and a partial refund.
The new API version (v2025-01-28) represents partial captures using a new "captures" array on payment objects. Visit our changelog to learn more about all changes included in this new API version.
* The current API version (v2024-07-15) will remain officially supported until February 2026. We strongly recommend migrating to the new API version before this date.
